About Marcato

For over 80 years, Marcato has been at the heart of kitchens around the world. Marcato has designed the way in which families enjoy pasta since 1930. Its first product was its pasta-sheeter, made in a small workshop, behind Otello Marcato's house, and introduced the families of nearby villages to homemade pasta. Otello rode his bike pedaling through the villages.

In 1938, when demand was climbing, Marcato opened its first factory in Campodarsego, Padua. The historic site is still today the fulcrum of Marcato's manufacturing, where each and every component of the renowned product range is carefully produced.

In 1962, Marcato began its internationalization process by exporting pasta machines to Philadelphia, the first step in today's worldwide distribution to more than 80 countries. In 1965, the Atlas was created-an instant icon and universal symbol of cooking excellence, creativity, and well-being.

In the succeeding years, Marcato continued to gain market share by adopting the latest technological innovations: in 1982, the company opened a second factory to support growth and development.

In 2006, Marcato didn't simply guarantee the "Made in Italy" authenticity but made users' well-being vital thanks to quality materials and innovative designs. It came to the point where, in 2015, Marcato was able to celebrate 85 years since its uninterrupted activity and reach such an important goal-testimony to the continuity of its entrepreneurial tradition.

Marcato continued with strengthening its global presence in 2020, with 70% of its sales reaching international borders. This did not, however, sacrifice the quality maintained at a minimum defect rate, while being able to produce up to 2,500 pasta machines and 250,000 rollers in one month.

Marcato welcomed the arrival of Sustainability, followed by the enforcement of circularity principles: waste reduction and value creation based on efficient exploitation of every resource. At Marcato, the future will continue to be excellence, innovation, and the art of pasta-making.
